Conquian Classic 1.1

Conquian is the earliest known Rummy game in the Western world. The card pack for Conquian consists of a 40-card deck, and it is played by two players.

The deck includes the cards A-2-3-4-5-6-7-J-Q-K in the standard suits: hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades.

Objective and Meld:

The main objective of Conquian is to be the first player to "go out" by melding 11 cards. Melding involves placing a valid combination of cards face up on the table. These face-up cards form your meld. The permitted combinations are:

• a group or set of three or four cards of the same rank (e.g., 7 of Hearts, 7 of Clubs, and 7 of Spades)
• a sequence or run of three to eight cards of the same suit in consecutive order (e.g., 4 of Clubs, 5 of Clubs, and 6 of Clubs)

It's important to note that in this game, the ace is always low, and the sequence 7-J-Q is not allowed.

Each meld on the table must consist of one or more separate valid combinations. A card can only be part of one combination at a time.

A sequence cannot exceed eight cards since you need to meld exactly eleven cards to win. To achieve this, you must have at least two combinations. If one combination consists of three cards, the other cannot exceed eight.

End of the Game:

The game continues until a player goes out or the stock is depleted. To go out, you meld the face-up card from the center along with all remaining cards in your hand (if any). This final meld must comprise eleven cards for victory.

If there are no cards left in the stock and you do not utilize the card discarded by your opponent, leading to an inability to draw a new card, the game ends in a draw. Some players opt to play the next game for double stakes in this scenario.

It's worth mentioning that even if you meld ten cards and discard your last card, the game does not conclude. You must continue playing until you acquire an eleventh card to complete your meld. This eleventh card can be drawn by accepting a discarded card or by drawing from your opponent's rejected pile.
